6. How a pickup works
- See the price. Pick items or upload a photo at providence.getjunkrabbit.com. The total appears on screen, with no call and no phone number needed to see it.
- Book. Choose an arrival window, any day 8am to midnight, and add a card. Same-day is available if booked by 4 PM.
- (If needed) COI. Add the managing agent at checkout; the certificate goes out within 1 hour.
- Pickup. A vetted, insured local hauler comes inside, takes items from any floor, disassembles if needed and carries everything out. You get text updates on the day.
- Price check. If there are extra items that weren't in the booking, the crew shows the updated price and waits for your approval before loading them.
- Disposal. We try to donate usable items when local charities accept them and recycle whatever we can; refrigerants are recovered from fridges and AC units.
7. vs Providence bulky item pickup
The City of Providence offers free bulky-item pickup through Waste Management for furniture and large appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, washer-dryers, water heaters and air conditioners. It covers buildings with 6 or fewer units; schedule online or by phone at least 24 hours before your trash day and set items out no earlier than the night before. Mattresses are excluded: residents can bring two per visit to the DPW drop-off on Allens Avenue on Saturdays from 7:00 to 12:45 with a Providence ID, take them to the RIRRC Central Landfill in Johnston, or use Waste Management's paid curbside pickup for bagged mattresses. Rhode Island bans e-waste from the trash, and buildings with 7 or more units get no city trash service.
If your building qualifies, your items are accepted and you can carry them to the curb, use the city program. JunkRabbit is for everything else: mattresses, TVs and electronics, third-floor walk-ups and basements, buildings of 7 or more units, and anything that has to go today. See 5 things Providence bulk pickup won't take.
8. vs national operators
National franchises such as 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King typically quote by truck volume and confirm the final price once the crew sees the job. JunkRabbit publishes a flat price for each item online, so the total is known before booking, and the job is done by a vetted, insured local hauler. There is no stairs fee and no same-day surcharge. See JunkRabbit vs 1-800-GOT-JUNK in Providence for a side-by-side.
